We are a very active community of nine deacons serving in communities across the diocese:

SCHOOL FOR DEACONS

The monthly meetings are generally scheduled on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each month with no meetings held in January, July or August.  School begins 5 September, 2008 at 7 p.m.  As the first weekend in October is Diocesan Convention, the October school will move to October 17-19.  It will take approximately 16 sessions to complete all topics.

Tuition for the School is $1,200 per year.  This can be paid at the beginning of the year, or in monthly payments of $150 per month, with payments being made at each session.  The total student cost (tuition, room, gas, books and food) will be about $3,000 a year.  The student, student's home congregation and the diocese will share this cost equitably.  Each student is responsible for the financing of his or her education.
